Pathways of Hope Header - Christmas (4).jpg

Your support of Pathways to Peace this Christmas means bringing real relief to those living in fear and suffering. True peace, lasting transformative peace, requires action by us all, for us all.

Aaditya and Andriya look back to a time when their thoughts were only of pain, poverty, and fear for the future. With hopeless hearts and little faith for tomorrow, each of them could have thought that the meaningful yuletide message of peace, love and joy would never apply to them.

When 25-year-old Aaditya, from a remote, resource-poor village in Northern Nepal, suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury, he feared his life was over. A young, previously fit man, now paralysed and in constant pain, he was no longer able to care for himself. His future appeared to be overwhelmingly dark.

Together with our partners we were able to immediately transfer Aaditya to hospital, where we could control his pain, relieve his pressure sores and provide long-term specialist care. But we didn't stop there. We trained his family on how best to care for their son, and we provided counselling to Aaditya and his parents to help them cope. Both he and his loving family now share a path to peace thanks to medical care and emotional support made possible by people like you.

By making a gift of £48 today, you could help save the lives of more people like Aaditya, providing a Pathway to Peace through the darkness.

When Andriya, a young woman from a small town near Raxaul, where the population is poor and mostly illiterate, lost her father to liver failure in 2019 she felt sad and hopeless.

Living with her mother, a daily wage worker, she found it hard to make ends meet. As the eldest child she worried about her burden to provide for her family. Surrounded by girls who enter early marriage to decrease the family financial burden, she remembered hearing from her father before he passed that there could be an opportunity for her to train as an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife at The Duncan Hospital.

With unwavering faith and support from EMMS, coupled with effort and courage from Andriya, she is now qualified and employed in the role she dreamed of. She tells us she is relieved and thankful to be leading a hopeful, happy and peaceful life.

By making a donation of just £25 today you could help provide support and study costs for people like Andriya. You could help strengthen the local healthcare workforce, whilst helping more girls escape early marriage and a life of poverty.

Thanks to you, Aaditya and Andriya’s faith has been restored. Together, we can continue to close the gap and provide a Pathway to Peace in a world that continues to leave so many behind. The need for medical care, opportunity, and stability is vast and urgent. This Christmas, we can come together to help bring peace to hearts, love to many, and joy where there is none.
